I made plenty of pasta and sauce yesterday so I could freeze some sauce, and have leftovers to make spaghetti pizza which is one of our favorites!
We had spaghetti pizza at a local pizza shop and it was simply delicious that we often make it at home. It’s hearty, filling and oh so good, you’ll be making it as often as we do!!
Let’s get started!
For the pizza dough, I am using my recipe for quick and easy buns. I used half the dough for pizza and turned the other half into cinnamon buns. You can also use the other half of the dough for another pizza or place in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for another time.
Combine water, sugar and yeast together. Stir. Let sit 5 minutes. Add oil, egg, 2 cups flour and salt. Stir well. Add remaining flour slowly to form a dough. Oil hands, knead gently. Let rest 15 to 20 minutes.
Grease cast iron pan. I put about 1 tbsp lard in the pan . Place in oven and preheat to 350F.
Combine leftover pasta and sauce together. Add a sprinkle of shredded cheese and parmesan cheese. Stir.

Cut dough in half. Stretch dough out. Place in cast iron pan and stretch dough to fit the pan. Be sure to stretch it up the sides.

Put about 3 tbsp pizza sauce. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.

Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Pour mixed sauce and spaghetti into crust.

Put about 3 tbsp pizza sauce over pasta. This will help prevent the pasta from drying out.

Sprinkle with a bit of parmesan cheese and shredded marble or mozzarella cheese.

Brush butter on edge of crust. Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Place in oven. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes to one hour or until crust is golden brown.

Let sit about 5 minutes. Carefully remove pizza from cast iron skillet and place pizza on cutting board.

Slice into slices. Serve with salad. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
