We love garlic bread! I make an assortment of garlic breads but this garlic bread is one of our favorites. It has a robust garlic flavor and a rich cheesiness.
This is such an easy and delicious way to make a loaded garlic bread that goes great with soup, salad or pasta! We enjoyed it so much last week with our broccoli soup that I had to make it again!
Let’s get started!
Mince 1 to 2 heads of garlic. Drizzle with oil. Add 1 tbsp butter along with salt and pepper. Roast at 350F until golden brown, about 30 to 45 minutes.
I am using french bread, but italian bread works great too. Slice bread lengthwise. I am only using half of the loaf today. We like garlic bread fresh, so I’ll make the rest of the bread into garlic bread another day. Butter bread and spread the roasted garlic on top.
Sprinkle with cheese, cooked crumbled bacon, green onions or chives. We did one half this way and one half with just plain cheese.
Cook in oven for 20 minutes or broil until golden. If broiling, be sure to keep an eye on it because it’ll burn quickly!!
Yum!! I could eat all of this garlic bread, it’s so good!
Garlic Bread
1 to 2 heads of garlic, minced
1/2 loaf of french bread
butter
shredded cheese
crumbled bacon
chopped green onion
Put minced garlic in an oven safe roasting dish. Sprinkle with oil, salt and pepper and a tablespoon of butter. Roast at 350F until golden, about 30 minutes to 44 minutes. Stir after 20 minutes.
Slice loaf of bread in half lengthwise. I used only half, but you can use the entire loaf. Butter bread. Place in baking sheet. Spread roasted garlic over top. Top with shredded cheese. You can also top with bacon and green onion. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes or so to golden brown. Or broil until golden brown, about 2 to 5 minutes. Slice into pieces and serve with pasta, soup or your favorite meal.
