This delicious giant cookie is meant to be an individual cookie, but it is large enough that we all shared together! It is made with just a few ingredients topped with a yummy ganache and decorated with more chocolate. My girls learned this cookie recipe in an online class from Bake with Caramella who is located in India. I think it is fabulous how modern technology can connect us to those around the world! She has some great recipes that my daughters have loved making.
Let’s get to it!
Combine butter, sugar and vanilla together. Mix well. Add baking soda, salt and flour and stir until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using. We did not use any nuts. Spread into a greased 6″ round baking pan. We used an 8″ round baking pan. You can also place a piece of parchment in the bottom so the cookie comes out easier. Bake at 350F for 10 to 15 minutes or until edges are golden. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack. Let cool completely. Place on plate once cooled.
Next, make the ganache. Warm cream and pour over chocolate and stir until melted. Let cool slightly so chocolate thickens. Spread ganache over cookie and decorate with melted chocolate, sprinkles, candy or any other of your favorite toppings.
We decorated the cookie pizza with some festive chocolates and drizzled it with melted chocolate but you really can decorate it any way you like for any occasion.
