We thought we would head to the community garden and check out our plot. It’s been quite warm, throughout April, so we are looking forward to seeing how the garlic and asparagus did over the winter.
“I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden.”
— Ruth Stout
Here’s the garden.
Here’s the spinach. We always have spinach that regrows every spring.
Here’s the asparagus. We might be able to eat some this year, but generally you do not harvest until the third year.
I was so happy to see the asparagus!
And that’s it so far. The ground is very dry, so we may have to water it to be sure what’s here keeps growing!
We will not be planting the garden until May because of the potential of frost and snow still.
