We always used to get broccoli cheese potatoes when we ate out and they were always so delicious! Since we haven’t had them in years, I thought we’d make them to enjoy at home! And they’re simply delicious. You can change it up by adding different seasonings, jalapeno or even different cheeses.
This broccoli cheese sauce can be used to top chicken, veggies, or meatloaf, but we put this yummy cheesy sauce over baked potatoes. So good!!
Let’s get started!
Put about 2 tbsp butter in pot with salt and pepper.

Once butter melts, add flour.

Add paprika and Cheez Whiz. Cook until thick.

Add milk.

Whisk to break up the lumps. Cook until thickened.

Add cheese.

Add broccoli. I suggest steaming it first.

Add remaining cheese.

Here it is — broccoli cheese sauce! So good!

Serve over rice, baked or mashed potato or over any veggie you like!

I served the broccoli cheese sauce over baked potatoes, along with stuffing, roast chicken, creamed turnip and natchinka. So delicious!

2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
Fresh cracked pepper
Sprinkle paprika
1 tbsp Cheez Whiz or Velveeta
2 cups milk
1 small head broccoli, chopped
2 cups shredded cheese
Put butter in pot with salt and pepper. Once melted, add flour and cheese. Add paprika. Cook until butter has been absorbed. Add milk slowly, whisking as you pour so you don’t get lumps. Add broccoli and cheese. Cook until thickened. Serve over baked potato, or veggie of choice.
