This is our go-to waffle recipe that I have been making for years! They’re soft and tender, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They’re just as delicious the next day as they are fresh.
Let’s get started!
Combine flour, baking powder, cornstarch, salt and sugar. Stir. Make a well. Add vanilla, oil or butter, eggs and milk.

Stir until combined. If the batter is too thick, add a splash more milk. The batter should not be runny like pancake batter, it should be thick but not too thick. If the batter is too thick, it’ll result in a tough waffle. It should ribbon when poured from the spoon.

Heat waffle iron. Spoon batter onto iron. Close and cook according to your waffle iron.

Remove waffle and continue until batter is gone.

As I remove the waffles, I stack them. Which keeps them warm.

Serve with homemade jam or homemade apple pie filling, whipped cream, syrup and any other of your favorite toppings.

These are so fluffy and so good! They’re great the next day too!
