For Valentines this year, we decided to have a tea party complete with exchanging Valentines which I thought was fun and cute!!
We decorated the table with paper heart confetti, heart valentine balloons and of course the flowering plant. My daughter used her Tupperware kids tea set which she’s been collecting since she was in preschool. Then we spent the afternoon making, baking and preparing food for the tea party. We made sandwiches and sweets and was so much fun. I share more of what we made below!
Let’s get started!!
We decided to get this pretty plant for the table because we thought a Valentine’s Tea Party needed some pretty flowers.

Next up, we made buns for our sandwiches. I used my favorite Quick & Easy Bun Recipe. Half the dough I turned into mini buns, and the other half I turned into Cheese Buns. So yummy!

Then we made Banana Bark — my daughter melted chocolate and spread that onto a silicone mat. Once set, she spread Wow Butter over top (but you can use your favorite nut or seed butter), nestled in the sliced bananas and then froze it. Then she broke it into pieces and I drizzled it with melted chocolate. Be sure to keep this frozen if you don’t eat it all! It’s so delicious!

I also made Heart-Shaped Scones using my Berry White Chocolate Scone Recipe and omitting the berries and chocolate so they’d be plain. They turned out beautifully!

Along with the scones for something sweet, we also made mini Banana Bran Muffins which are fluffy, tender and moist. They’re so good!!

We had cucumbers and extra shredded carrot.

We made Carrot Dip that my girls have enjoyed since they were toddlers. I made this dip as a way to hide veggies and get my kids to eat more veggies! Who doesn’t love veggie dip with veggies like heart-shaped cucumbers!?!
For the dip, 4oz combine cream cheese, 1/4 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt, 1 cup finely grated carrot, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, fresh ground pepper and 1 finely chopped green onion. I didn’t have any green onion, so we left it out today and instead used some dried chives. Mix altogether and enjoy on crackers or vegetables. It always tastes better the next day!

The mini buns were cut into hearts though it’s a little hard to see that these are heart shaped! In retrospect, I should have made bread instead of buns! Nevertheless they were delicious! My daughter cut each bun, then spread herb & garlic cream cheese over top, place a heart-shaped piece of cheese and cucumber on, then topped it with the top bun.

I made egg salad sandwiches. First off, I had boiled the eggs. I always place the eggs from the fridge into the pot, cover with water and set it in the stove to boil. Once boiling, I cover and turn the burner on low and cook for 13 minutes. Then drain and run cold water over top. I soak in icy cold water until the eggs are cool. Then refrigerate until ready to use.
For the egg salad, I peel and rinse the eggs and toss them into a bowl. I add a bit of diced celery, 1 or 2 chopped dill pickles (we use homemade but you can use any pickle you like), shredded cheese, mayo, a sprinkle of dill weed along with salt and pepper. I add green onion if I have and a small squirt of spicy mustard. Sometimes I also add shredded carrot. Mash together. Onto the buttered cheese bun, spread the egg salad, top with lettuce and then the top bun. These are so delicious!! One of our favorites!!

Here’s our table with everything on it! To drink, we have juice, and water with iced tea “sugar” for the “tea”.

First we enjoyed the sandwiches and cucumber and dip. Then we had the dessert part of muffins and scones. On the scones we had crème fraîche and raspberry jam. It was delightful!!

Such a fun way to spend Valentine’s Day!!
